Yes it is suggested that you treat all over your home including furniture and carpeting for mange. Mange mites will transfer on and off of your pet during the mange treatment. They will burrow into your furniture, your pet’s bedding or your carpeting. They live up to about seven days off of the host without feeding before they will die. If you are treating your pet for sarcoptic or notoedric mange it is strongly recommended that you treat your home as well as your pets. These types of mange are highly contagious and can be easily spread to other pets. Sarcoptic mange mites can also bite humans. You may experience some itching, bumps and crawling sensations. The mange mites cannot burrow or reproduce on humans.
